Library Services
Everything we do for you, inside the library or out
iPAC
With your own PC & Internet connection at home or work, you can access the Mascoutah Public Library Patron Access Computer. From the comfort of your home, you can place holds on books, renew your books, review your patron record, browse the database, see the Bestsellers list and other features, just as you would from the PAC terminal in the library. First you will need a current library card in good standing. Then you will need to establish a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the library. You must come into the library in person to select your PIN. To access iPAC, use the first screen of this website or bookmark this URL on your web browser: http://search.mascoutah.lib.il.us
Interlibrary Loan
Mascoutah Public Library is a member of the Shawnee Library System which connects us with libraries throughout the state of Illinois and beyond. If we do not own materials you need, we can borrow them from another library. We will locate a specific book or magazine article for you, or you may submit a subject request.
Reference Service
Whenever possible, staff members will help patrons find answers to reference questions by leading them to appropriate materials for searching. Phone reference calls are always welcome. Several reference sites are available from our Reference Page
Voter Registration
You may register to vote or change your voter address at the library.
Computers for Public Use in the Library
8 stations are provided for Public Access to the Library Catalog, Internet Resources, or email. Each patron is allowed one hour per day on the Internet.
Genealogists may use the computer located in the Microfilm Room for Family History research, including a search of the index to the begining years of the Mascoutah Herald.

Teacher Services
Teachers at Mascoutah Elementary School or Holy Childhood School may request our Book Box service. Made-to-order classroom collections on a subject, an author, or fiction can be selected according to your grade level or class size. Teachers may apply for a Teacher Card which is usable only for classroom materials. Teachers who live in Mascoutah, but teach outside the city limits may also use the Book Box service, but materials will be checked out on your personal card.
